Ingredients

  • ½ Green Bell Pepper, chopped
  • ½ Red Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 1/8 tsp Badia Ground Jalapeño
  • ½ Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsps Badia Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • ¾ lbs Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 tsp Badia Oregano
  • 1 tsp Badia Chipotle Ground Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Badia Pasilla Ground Chili Powder
  • 3 tsp Badia Chili Powder
  • 1 can cut Tomatoes (14.5 ounce can)
  • 1 can Tomato Sauce (15 ounce can)
  • 2 cans Black Beans (15 ounce can)
  • 1 cup Water
  • ½ tsp Badia Ground Cumin
  • ½ tsp Badia Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Badia Onion Powder
  • 1-1/2 tsp Badia Salt (or salt to taste)
  • ½ tsp Badia Ground Black Pepper
  • ½ tsp Badia Crushed Red Pepper – optional (for more heat, add more to taste)
  • 2 tbsp Masa Flour

Toppings:

  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • ½ cup Sour Cream
  • 3 tbsp Chopped Onion
  • 1 Avocado, chopped

Directions

  1. Heat a large pot on medium heat and add the Olive Oil
  2. Add the green and red bell peppers, onion, garlic and jalapeno to the pan and stir
  3. Add the ground beef to the pan and stir
  4. Add the oregano, chipotle chili powder, pasilla chili powder, chili powder, and stir
  5. Add the cut tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, the black beans and stir
  6. Add the cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, masa flour, and stir
  7. Let simmer for about 45 minutes or until the desired consistency is met
  8. Serve topped with cheddar cheese, sour cream, onions, and avocado.
